The Greater Women’s Business Council® (GWBC®) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that empowers and supports our businesses in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
GWBC® is a regional partner of Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and provides a national certification that is recognized and accepted by corporations and government entities.
To foster business growth, the Greater Women's Business Council provides education, resources, access to funding, innovative networking opportunities and connections with large corporations looking to meet suppliers to fulfill their goals in Georgia and the Carolinas.
GWBC® was launched with the support of founding corporate members Delta Air Lines and UPS, whose early investment helped establish the organization as a leader in supplier inclusion.
The mission of GWBC® is to advance, promote and advocate for the small business community that includes women business enterprises (WBEs) through certification, education, mentoring and corporate partnerships across Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina — three of the fastest-growing states for women-owned businesses, according to the American Express State of Women-Owned Business Report.
Today, GWBC’s Corporate Member-Partners include many of the nation's most recognized brands, all committed to achieving supplier inclusion goals and driving economic growth by investing in certified women-owned businesses.
Over the past 25 years, GWBC has been recognized as “Best in Class” within the WBENC network, supporting more than 125 WBEs through mentoring programs and offering high-impact educational and networking initiatives, including the Accelerated Education Series, Cohort Programs and Power of Partnering events. In addition, GWBC has partnered with corporate organizations through grant initiatives to grow and support small businesses owned by women founders.
